From 2018 summer, I am in middle of a lot a change. First time to be away from my regular routine life style. I had to challenge myself where I should pursue my dream or let it rest for a while. Because art doesn’t directly link to income. So past 2 months I left my works unpacked and let it sit next to the walls. They were waiting me to open them up. and finally I did 2 weeks ago with whatever I have now. Still on process to make my own perfect space.
Now I set up my studio and ready to work on paintings! and this is how I did. I love to rearrange furniture and interior. so this studio probably look different after a while. Actually changes makes me creative. Space really reshape your state of mind when you work.
I’m very picky with lightings when I set up a studio for painting. Because lighting location and the type of light bulb makes my painting look amazing or horrible. Compare to use artificial light, I think painting in daylight is the best lighting. I place a canvas closer to window so I can get natural light.
Now Easel! I left my old big easel to my friend, so I left with small one which you can see on the table. My plan is to set up adjustable heights installation on the wall.(I hope that can happen soon) .
One to add for studio set up preparing a big cloth (carpet) to cover painting area. This way it makes it easier to work without hassle.
Lastly, any tiny inspirations I keep on my wall. It makes me happy looking at some of my inspirations. Currently my hero on the wall is Eva Hesse. I have a small b&w photo of her in her studio.
